The Licking County Equestrian Center partners with local education agencies to bring equine studies to students who may otherwise not have the opportunity to work with or around horses. Previous partners have included companies such as Magnum Opus Intervention Center, and The Nest. We offer 6-week summer programs, tailored to the population of students being served. Sessions are one to two hours in length each week, and feature instruction in equine care, handling, and riding. Sessions are taught by a licensed Intervention Specialist and/or Child Psychologist. Program fees are based on the number of hours per session, the number of horses needed to accommodate students, and the number of additional staff needed to facilitate the program. Fees are charged per student, for the entire 6-week program, and are not adjusted for absence, drop-out, etc. All fees and paperwork, including medical release and waiver of liability, are due by the start date of the program.
In order to give adequate time to each of our groups, The Licking County Equestrian Center must limit the number of partnerships each Summer. Therefore, programs are scheduled on a first-come first-served basis.
